What yoga means to me
Hi, I am Anja, your guiding voice and body on the mat.
My aim is to create a community of kindness and compassion. To offer a safe space for your practice, and a nurturing guidance to support your health and wellbeing.
My yoga journey started over 25 years ago and it has been an exciting and interesting journey so far. From my first classes as a child in Finland where it supported my sports, through challenges as a teen, improving my University studies, and now navigating the ups and downs of being an adult (at least I pretend to be one!) – yoga has been a constant support pillar for me. That thing that is always there to bring me home.
My yoga mat has always been a sacred and special place for me. That time on the mat is so precious, important, and accessible.
The moment I roll my mat out, my whole being breathes a sigh of contentedness.
My approach
During my journey I have learned so much and my hunger for learning is something that keeps my own practice fresh and interesting. This is what I love passing on to my students. With respect to yoga’s original roots combined with modern knowledge of the body/mind connection, I offer a space for you to explore on the mat.
I also want you to have some fun on the mat – not only as a result of my bad jokes but also during your exploration on the mat. A Little playful light-heartedness is oh so important for us adults.
Yoga is for everyone no matter what size, shape, gender or age you are. You don’t have to be a gymnast or contortionist, super fit or strong. Whatever your goals may be, I will love helping you reach for them.
